The Publishing House Nieuw Amsterdam consists of five Dutch publishers, Uitgeverij Nieuw Amsterdam, Podium, Uitgeverij Wereldbibliotheek, Uitgeverij Bas Lubberhuizen and Fontaine Uitgevers, all specialized in high-quality publications. Together, they publish about 150 book titles a year.

Uitgeverij Nieuw Amsterdam

publishes a broad portfolio of fiction and non-fiction. Both Dutch and translated literature and non-fiction with a wide range of topics: cooking, culture, sport, crime, society and history. It publishes well known authors such as David Mitchell, Hanya Yanagihara, Pieter Steinz, Thomas Verbogt and Karin Luiten.

is an independent publisher, specialized in fiction and quality non-fiction but also in polemic and poetry. They publish top Dutch authors such as Alex Boogers, Renate Dorrestein, Laura van der Haar, Ingmar Heytze, Wilfried de Jong, Arjen Lubach, Elvis Peeters, Georgina Verbaan and Janneke Vreugdenhil. Kluun and Joris Luyendijk are among those who developed into bestselling authors at Podium. Then there are the foreign authors, with prestigious writers like Breyten Breytenbach, Michel Faber, Maria Gainza, Johan Harstad, Etgar Keret, Antjie Krog, Niki Segnit, Rebecca Solnit and Uwe Timm.

Uitgeverij Wereldbibliotheek

is one of the oldest publishers in the Netherlands, established in 1905. Wereldbibliotheek joined Uitgeefhuis Nieuw Amsterdam in 2014. Wereldbibliotheek publishes high-end literature by authors like Thomas Mann, Elena Ferrante and Isabel Allende, as well as non-fiction on history, philosophy, psychology and politics.

Uitgeverij Bas Lubberhuizen

publishes non-fiction books and journals, often illustrated, about the cultural city, its residents and writers, with a focus on Amsterdam. Uitgeverij Bas Lubberhuizen joined Uitgeefhuis Nieuw Amsterdam in 2015.

Fontaine Uitgevers

publishes high-quality cookbooks and books on history, nature, science and technology. Successful authors are the internationally celebrated cookbook authors Yotam Ottolenghi and Claudia Roden, the Dutch Yvette van Boven and scientific journalist Govert Schilling. Fontaine Uitgevers, located in Hilversum, was established in 2002 and joined Uitgeefhuis Nieuw Amsterdam in 2015.
